Another Weight Loss Success Story!

rachel
At Fresh ‘N Fit, nothing makes us happier than hearing your success stories, especially when our calorie and portion controlled meals are incorporated into your health and nutrition goals. We’ve seen the positive results time and time and they always amaze us! Today, we’d like to introduce you to Rachel, who is celebrating her one year anniversary of being on Fresh ‘N Fit.
She explains, “Struggling through the end of college, I had abandoned all healthy habits.  I tried going to the LA Fitness with a personal trainer for a year, but that didn’t do much since my nutrition was inconsistent. Losing a good friend in a tragic car accident shocked me into realizing that life is fleeting. I realized that I needed to take a more dramatic action to honor her life by taking care of mine, even if that meant running obstacle course races.”

After accepting that I actually had an eating disorder and I knew that I needed outside help. My therapist recommended Fresh ‘N Fit meals with the encouragement that there is no one correct way to eat healthy.

“You don’t have to spend tons of money at expensive grocery stores only to later spend hours batch cooking and eating the same leftovers all week.”

Instead of stressing out over both shopping and cooking with healthier aspirations, I am able to rely almost entirely on Fresh ‘N Fit to reset my body and mind by eating clean.

“With the meal plan, I eat out less, focus on my fitness training more, and enjoy my life without the mental fatigue of cooking and preparing healthy meals.”

Within the first 4 months of Fresh ‘N Fit, I consistently lost about 10 pounds per month.

“I started Crossfit two months in, hoping for an engaging workout system that would continue to improve my life beyond nutrition. After the first 6 months of Fresh ‘N Fit, I have lost 60 pounds. During the second 6 months I’ve lost another 10 pounds and 8 inches from my waistline. I have bought 2 completely new wardrobes by this point, starting at a size 18 at 255 pounds and am now at a size 10/12 at 185. I compete in weightlifting, powerlifting, and Crossfit competitions for fun, and most importantly, I love waking up every day and living my life to the fullest! Each day I try to make the best choices for myself, living by the mantra to be my best self every day. I want to thank Fresh ‘N Fit, my Crossfit Vesuvio gym fam and coaches, my #strongLike lady squad, and the extended Crossfit community for supporting not just me but everyone on their daily journey to their best selves.”

Happy Anniversary, Connie!

imagejpeg_0-1

It’s been awhile since we’ve checked in with Connie Harwood, so it made perfect sense to see how she was doing on her 1 year anniversary of starting her mission to live a healthier lifestyle. We’ve been there for a majority of her journey and we couldn’t be more proud of her for what she has accomplished!

Connie explains, “It has been one amazing year since I started my journey to try to be a healthier person and on my 1 year anniversary I have something to celebrate. As of this week, I have said goodbye to another 5 pounds, for a total of……drum roll please…..50 pounds!”

“I have learned so many things in the last year. One of them is portion control. It’s so important to spread my calories evenly throughout the day. Before my journey, I ate less than 200 calories for breakfast, a few more at lunch, and then the most of my calories were at dinner time.”

“With the help of Fresh ‘n Fit Cuisine, I have about 400 calories with each meal. The calories and portions are controlled. When I eat out I now consider calories and portion!”

Connie started off on our Healthy Mix menu before transitioning to Low Carb. Along with working out 3-5 times a week at U First Fitness, our meals have helped make the past 12 months a success.

Are you ready to put in the hard work like Connie and get the same amazing results? Then try one of our 5 chef prepared menus today! You can even order individual meals with our a la carte options or try some of our house made protein bars and healthy mix snack packs.

The Most Wonderful Time of The (New) Year!

rebecca-w0117
How do you end 2016? Did you hit any or all of your health and fitness goals? We hope you did and on that note, we would like to share another inspirational story from one of our favorite Atlanta crossfitters, Rebecca Walburn“After starting Fresh ‘N Fit in the last quarter of 2016, we’ve had Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year celebrations. I’ve traveled coast to coast for work. I’ve had road trips to visit family as well as long term house guests staying in our house. We even had a few germs run through the house. It has been chaotic, to say the least.”

“It might be the most wonderful time of the year but it is also one of the most stressful.”

“Despite the overbooked season, I am happy to say that both my weight and body fat are both down! I haven’t been starving, I haven’t deprived myself of my favorites. I’ve mostly stayed with my meal plan and lost weight and body fat over the holiday season while still eating pumpkin pie with whip cream, birthday cake, and sugar cookies I decorated with my kids.

“Having the consistency of the meal plan kept me on track and I’m much closer to my goals because of it.”

“Sure, I could have dropped more weight and fat had I skipped those seasonal foods, but being able to enjoy those moments without any guilt is an amazing feeling. Plus, losing weight and decreasing body fat is not something that usually happens around the holiday season. I’m THRILLED I can still savor the moments with my family without feeling deprived and yet I’m still closer to my goals. I have no doubt the foundational nutrition from Fresh ‘N Fit helped this become a reality.  If you haven’t tried Fresh ‘N Fit, give it a few weeks and see how it can help you as well.”

The holiday season has come and gone, so there are no more excuses on why 2017 can’t be your healthiest year ever! Try One Of Our Winter Menus, Snack Packs, Low Cal Desserts & Protein Bars and get $20 Off your first order with promo code JAN20BLOG at checkout!*

#RideLikeAStar: Life Goes By Fast

starBy: Star Reid

Life goes by so fast sometimes! Sometimes you want to just stop and enjoy the weather but you always end up making plans doing something else. That’s how my life has been lately. I have been traveling out of town every weekend. As a result, it’s been a challenge trying to hit my goals. No one said it would be easy.

For the past three weeks I haven’t been able to stay on track as much as I would like. I was only able to go the gym once. For me, finding time to work out is 50% of the battle. If I don’t go to the gym, it’s hard to stay on track with what I eat every day. In the beginning of the first week, I weighed in at 207. This got to my head because I was working hard but ended up gaining 2 lbs. Some days, I would be fine and only eat my meals from Fresh ‘N Fit. Other days I would give up and sneak in an extra meal. I did this for about 2 weeks. After coming back down from my high of traveling and my “time off,” I knew I had to get back in gear.

I went to the gym on October 3 after a three week hiatus. I didn’t weigh myself the whole time because I didn’t want to face the scale telling me I went backwards. I knew that I needed to get back in the gym and lose whatever I had gained back. The next morning, I decided to step on the scale. It read 204! I was in shock. For three weeks, I wasn’t able to stick to my fitness routine as much as I wanted to so there was only one way this could have happened: Fresh ‘N Fit Cuisine. I truly believe that if I didn’t have these meals, I would have gained at least 5 lbs back.

I was so happy with myself and relieved that I didn’t have to get down on myself. The rest of the week was busy so the gym got skipped a few more times. At the end of the week, I stepped on the scale again and it was at 203. This is the lowest I’ve weighed since I began my weight lost journey. I’m excited to start off next week and get back in the gym. I can’t wait to hit that 200 mark and finally be able to see a 1 instead of a 2.

As of today, I have lost 57 lbs in total but I’m no where near being done! Life gets in the way but you always have to make time to get yourself back in order! As soon as I hit my goal of 200, my next goal is going to be 190 by Thanksgiving. With the help of Fresh ‘N Fit Cuisine by my side I know I will accomplish my goals!

Ride Like A Star

Star Reid

At Fresh ‘N Fit, nothing makes us happier than hearing your success stories. When our calorie and portion controlled meals are incorporated into your health and fitness goals, the results can be amazing! Just ask Patrick or Connie. We’d like to introduce you to Star, a total boss, who happens to race motorcycles for a living.

“There comes a time in your life when you are at your lowest. For me, it was trying to get back to being human after my motorcycle accidents. I remember the day I stood on the scale and saw my weight at 264 in Oct of 2015. That was the day that I decided I was going to change and became a healthier me.  I got a gym membership and started going to the gym after work everyday. I started doing 30 minutes of cardio until I built myself up to 2 hours of cardio. I cut back on drinking soda, limiting myself to one a week, if that. I tried to eat as healthy as I could. Some weeks I did fine, other weeks not so much and my choices would end up canceling out what I had done the week before. Even with the struggle of my diet, I went from 264 to 221 in a matter of 4 months. For the next three months, I was at a standstill and had plateau’d out. I would lose a little weight but end up gaining it right back. I knew my diet was the thing that was holding me back.”

“I had a friend from California tell me about a meal prepping company that she was using. My next thought was to go online and find one in Atlanta. After checking out a couple of different sites, and making a couple of phone calls, Fresh ‘N Fit is the company I went with. I didn’t want to cheat at all so for the first two weeks of August, I did the 7 day plan, 1,200 calories/day Healthy Mix menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I started at 215.3 lbs at the beginning of August. After just 2 weeks on the plan, I was already down to 205.2 lbs. Unfortunately during my third week, I missed ordering my meals, and received a smaller cancelled meal plan that was part of the paleo menu. I knew I had to stay on track by not eating bad for the majority of the week. I did well but not as well as I hoped I would. Today, I am still 205.8. The good thing is that I haven’t gained any. I am ready to get back on track and see how much I can lose.”

#PJDropping100 | Memorial Day, Day 82

MDM Group Picture

What a great turn out at 9AM!

Today, I honor all service men and women who have given their lives for our freedom. And thank you to all the veterans who served and all the active and reserve duty who continue to serve. I know freedom is not free and what you do is much appreciated.

Today, 45 of my friends and I at CrossFit Fayette celebrated Memorial Day morning with a hero WOD, known in the CrossFit community simply as “MURPH.” This is a grueling WOD of about an hour consisting of a 1 mile run, then 100 pull-ups, 200 push-ups, and 300 air squats, and is topped off with another 1 mile run.

After MURPH Byron-Me-DonEven though, I’ve lost a bunch of weight with Fresh ‘N Fit’s great tasting meal plans, I still need to scale movements, so I did MURPH on a boat. That’s right I rowed in lieu of running, and I scaled the pull-ups as well. Like Rich Froning no clock, I just finished. I did get beat by 73 year old Mr. Don Scott. He actually beat my friend Byron and I. I’m so proud of Don and how he attacks CrossFit at his age. Don, you are an inspiration.

Again, thank you to all the military for my freedom. And thank you for following, and remember to be better today than you were yesterday. May God bless us all.

At Fresh ‘N Fit Cuisine, we’re proud to be a part of Patrick’s mission to lose weight. All 5 of our chef prepared, gourmet menus are nutritionally balanced and approved by our in-house Registered Dietitian.

Our Memorial Day sale ends today but there’s still time to save 15% OFF your first order with promo code MAY15 at checkout.
