Happy Anniversary, Connie!

It’s been awhile since we’ve checked in with Connie Harwood, so it made perfect sense to see how she was doing on her 1 year anniversary of starting her mission to live a healthier lifestyle. We’ve been there for a majority of her journey and we couldn’t be more proud of her for what she has accomplished!

Connie explains, “It has been one amazing year since I started my journey to try to be a healthier person and on my 1 year anniversary I have something to celebrate. As of this week, I have said goodbye to another 5 pounds, for a total of……drum roll please…..50 pounds!”

“I have learned so many things in the last year. One of them is portion control. It’s so important to spread my calories evenly throughout the day. Before my journey, I ate less than 200 calories for breakfast, a few more at lunch, and then the most of my calories were at dinner time.”

#RideLikeAStar: Life Goes By Fast

Life goes by so fast sometimes! Sometimes you want to just stop and enjoy the weather but you always end up making plans doing something else. That’s how my life has been lately. I have been traveling out of town every weekend. As a result, it’s been a challenge trying to hit my goals. No one said it would be easy.

For the past three weeks I haven’t been able to stay on track as much as I would like. I was only able to go the gym once. For me, finding time to work out is 50% of the battle. If I don’t go to the gym, it’s hard to stay on track with what I eat every day. In the beginning of the first week, I weighed in at 207. This got to my head because I was working hard but ended up gaining 2 lbs. Some days, I would be fine and only eat my meals from Fresh ‘N Fit. Other days I would give up and sneak in an extra meal. I did this for about 2 weeks. After coming back down from my high of traveling and my “time off,” I knew I had to get back in gear.

I went to the gym on October 3 after a three week hiatus. I didn’t weigh myself the whole time because I didn’t want to face the scale telling me I went backwards. I knew that I needed to get back in the gym and lose whatever I had gained back. The next morning, I decided to step on the scale. It read 204! I was in shock. For three weeks, I wasn’t able to stick to my fitness routine as much as I wanted to so there was only one way this could have happened: Fresh ‘N Fit Cuisine. I truly believe that if I didn’t have these meals, I would have gained at least 5 lbs back.

I was so happy with myself and relieved that I didn’t have to get down on myself. The rest of the week was busy so the gym got skipped a few more times. At the end of the week, I stepped on the scale again and it was at 203. This is the lowest I’ve weighed since I began my weight lost journey. I’m excited to start off next week and get back in the gym. I can’t wait to hit that 200 mark and finally be able to see a 1 instead of a 2.

As of today, I have lost 57 lbs in total but I’m no where near being done! Life gets in the way but you always have to make time to get yourself back in order! As soon as I hit my goal of 200, my next goal is going to be 190 by Thanksgiving. With the help of Fresh ‘N Fit Cuisine by my side I know I will accomplish my goals!

Ride Like A Star

We’d like to introduce you to Star, a total boss, who happens to race motorcycles for a living.

“There comes a time in your life when you are at your lowest. For me, it was trying to get back to being human after my motorcycle accidents. I remember the day I stood on the scale and saw my weight at 264 in Oct of 2015. That was the day that I decided I was going to change and became a healthier me.  I got a gym membership and started going to the gym after work everyday. I started doing 30 minutes of cardio until I built myself up to 2 hours of cardio. I cut back on drinking soda, limiting myself to one a week, if that. I tried to eat as healthy as I could. Some weeks I did fine, other weeks not so much and my choices would end up canceling out what I had done the week before. Even with the struggle of my diet, I went from 264 to 221 in a matter of 4 months. For the next three months, I was at a standstill and had plateau’d out. I would lose a little weight but end up gaining it right back. I knew my diet was the thing that was holding me back.”

“I had a friend from California tell me about a meal prepping company that she was using. My next thought was to go online and find one in Atlanta. After checking out a couple of different sites, and making a couple of phone calls, Fresh ‘N Fit is the company I went with. I didn’t want to cheat at all so for the first two weeks of August, I did the 7 day plan, 1,200 calories/day Healthy Mix menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I started at 215.3 lbs at the beginning of August. After just 2 weeks on the plan, I was already down to 205.2 lbs. Unfortunately during my third week, I missed ordering my meals, and received a smaller cancelled meal plan that was part of the paleo menu. I knew I had to stay on track by not eating bad for the majority of the week. I did well but not as well as I hoped I would. Today, I am still 205.8. The good thing is that I haven’t gained any. I am ready to get back on track and see how much I can lose.”

What a great turn out at 9AM!

Today, I honor all service men and women who have given their lives for our freedom. And thank you to all the veterans who served and all the active and reserve duty who continue to serve. I know freedom is not free and what you do is much appreciated.

Today, 45 of my friends and I at CrossFit Fayette celebrated Memorial Day morning with a hero WOD, known in the CrossFit community simply as “MURPH.” This is a grueling WOD of about an hour consisting of a 1 mile run, then 100 pull-ups, 200 push-ups, and 300 air squats, and is topped off with another 1 mile run.

 

After MURPH Byron-Me-DonEven though, I’ve lost a bunch of weight with Fresh ‘N Fit’s great tasting meal plans, I still need to scale movements, so I did MURPH on a boat. That’s right I rowed in lieu of running, and I scaled the pull-ups as well. Like Rich Froning no clock, I just finished. I did get beat by 73 year old Mr. Don Scott. He actually beat my friend Byron and I. I’m so proud of Don and how he attacks CrossFit at his age. Don, you are an inspiration.

#PJDropping100: 57lbs in 52 Days On Fresh ‘N Fit

I have a digital scale at home that has read “Errr” whenever I stepped on it for the last year or more, because I was too heavy for it to register my weight. That ended today, as my scale now registers my weight again! Yay, what a great feeling. My weight loss journey reached a threshold today – I passed the midway point. The Nutrition, Exercise, and Life Style Changes are working very well. I did change to Fresh N Fit’s “Low Carb” 1800 calorie beast mode meal plan, and I did add another CrossFit Fayette WOD each week, but have not added any additional life style changes, as I’m still drinking 1/2 my body weight in water and reading at least 10 minutes a day*.
