#RideLikeAStar: Life Goes By Fast

Life goes by so fast sometimes! Sometimes you want to just stop and enjoy the weather but you always end up making plans doing something else. That’s how my life has been lately. I have been traveling out of town every weekend. As a result, it’s been a challenge trying to hit my goals. No one said it would be easy.

For the past three weeks I haven’t been able to stay on track as much as I would like. I was only able to go the gym once. For me, finding time to work out is 50% of the battle. If I don’t go to the gym, it’s hard to stay on track with what I eat every day. In the beginning of the first week, I weighed in at 207. This got to my head because I was working hard but ended up gaining 2 lbs. Some days, I would be fine and only eat my meals from Fresh ‘N Fit. Other days I would give up and sneak in an extra meal. I did this for about 2 weeks. After coming back down from my high of traveling and my “time off,” I knew I had to get back in gear.

I went to the gym on October 3 after a three week hiatus. I didn’t weigh myself the whole time because I didn’t want to face the scale telling me I went backwards. I knew that I needed to get back in the gym and lose whatever I had gained back. The next morning, I decided to step on the scale. It read 204! I was in shock. For three weeks, I wasn’t able to stick to my fitness routine as much as I wanted to so there was only one way this could have happened: Fresh ‘N Fit Cuisine. I truly believe that if I didn’t have these meals, I would have gained at least 5 lbs back.

I was so happy with myself and relieved that I didn’t have to get down on myself. The rest of the week was busy so the gym got skipped a few more times. At the end of the week, I stepped on the scale again and it was at 203. This is the lowest I’ve weighed since I began my weight lost journey. I’m excited to start off next week and get back in the gym. I can’t wait to hit that 200 mark and finally be able to see a 1 instead of a 2.

As of today, I have lost 57 lbs in total but I’m no where near being done! Life gets in the way but you always have to make time to get yourself back in order! As soon as I hit my goal of 200, my next goal is going to be 190 by Thanksgiving. With the help of Fresh ‘N Fit Cuisine by my side I know I will accomplish my goals!

#RideLikeAStar: The Struggle Is Real

starreidOnce again, please allow us to introduce our latest success story, Star. Riding an ’08 Honda CBR1000, she races motorcycles for a living. In 2015, while recovering from an accident, her health and her fitness goals suffered. Changes were going to have to be made if she was going to get back on track. But as we all know, the struggle is real and you’ll have both good and bad moments as Star explains in her latest entry:

“September has been a month of very little free time for me!! With that being said, I’ve still been trying to stay focused on myself and striving to do better every week! My schedule has been crazy and I am going out of town every weekend this month, so it’s definitely going to be more of a challenge because I will not be able to stick to my meal plan the way I would like to.
It has been a struggle for me with my exercise also. I go to the gym and  do at least 30 minutes of cardio 6 times a week if possible. This month I have only been there a total of 4 times. Having to come home and pack for my trips, along with prepping my bike to ensure it’s ready for the rides, has taken up a large portion of my gym time. 

The first weekend that I was out of town was for Labor day. I actually did well and didn’t eat anything too horrible. Of course I had a small piece of cake to celebrate, but I stayed in control of myself. My second weekend was to the mountains for the Women’s Sport Bike Rally. I did pretty well there until they brought out some pizza. I actually ate more than what I should have.

After eating it, my body did not react well. My stomach started hurting and I felt sick for about 3 hours. Riding while feeling sick isn’t a good mixture. That was the first big meal I had that wasn’t a meal from Fresh ‘N Fit Cuisine. This made me realize that my body had gotten used to the prepped meals that I had been eating for all of August. It was obvious that they were more nutritionally balanced and so much better for my body.”

We’d like to introduce you to Star, a total boss, who happens to race motorcycles for a living.

“There comes a time in your life when you are at your lowest. For me, it was trying to get back to being human after my motorcycle accidents. I remember the day I stood on the scale and saw my weight at 264 in Oct of 2015. That was the day that I decided I was going to change and became a healthier me.  I got a gym membership and started going to the gym after work everyday. I started doing 30 minutes of cardio until I built myself up to 2 hours of cardio. I cut back on drinking soda, limiting myself to one a week, if that. I tried to eat as healthy as I could. Some weeks I did fine, other weeks not so much and my choices would end up canceling out what I had done the week before. Even with the struggle of my diet, I went from 264 to 221 in a matter of 4 months. For the next three months, I was at a standstill and had plateau’d out. I would lose a little weight but end up gaining it right back. I knew my diet was the thing that was holding me back.”

“I had a friend from California tell me about a meal prepping company that she was using. My next thought was to go online and find one in Atlanta. After checking out a couple of different sites, and making a couple of phone calls, Fresh ‘N Fit is the company I went with. I didn’t want to cheat at all so for the first two weeks of August, I did the 7 day plan, 1,200 calories/day Healthy Mix menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I started at 215.3 lbs at the beginning of August. After just 2 weeks on the plan, I was already down to 205.2 lbs. Unfortunately during my third week, I missed ordering my meals, and received a smaller cancelled meal plan that was part of the paleo menu. I knew I had to stay on track by not eating bad for the majority of the week. I did well but not as well as I hoped I would. Today, I am still 205.8. The good thing is that I haven’t gained any. I am ready to get back on track and see how much I can lose.”
